Manu Varghese works primarily in general corporate advisory, private equity & venture capital transactions, mergers & acquisitions, business transfers and corporate commercial contracts. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures and business transfers. He has extensive experience in strategic acquisitions and exits, private equity investments representing both buy side and sell side, joint ventures, inbound foreign investments, divestment of business and assets and outbound investments. He has over 15 years of experience in advising clients on matters involving corporate-structuring, foreign strategic investments in existing and greenfield companies, foreign direct investments, business transfers, regulatory compliance, exit rights and commercial arrangements and is experienced in handling a wide range of clients, including some of India’s largest conglomerates, multinational companies and private equity players across various sectors including e-commerce, retail, cement, financial services, equipment manufacturing, renewable energy and information technology. 

Prior to joining Samvad in 2023, Manu was the Head of General Corporate and Commercial practice at White & Brief Advocates and Solicitors and was a Partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

Manu holds a B.A. LL.B (Hons) degree from National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (2007). He is admitted to practice law in India.

When not lawyering, Manu tries to explore cultures, cuisines and indigenous art. He loves to travel, especially scuba-diving destinations. At home, he is busy indulging his pet dogs in making up for time spent away from them and occasionally tries his hand at painting.
